My first review in Singapore and it's the first review for the store, period!! My friend and I were looking for a place to get our nails did as people are wont to do when they are on a tropical vacation and have a lot of time on their hands. There are lots of nail places in Holland Village Shopping Center, ranging from fancy looking to skanky looking. We looked at all of them and it was down to The Mayfair (which has a cool name, and also a cool interior--it looks like you're getting a pedi in a very fancy 18th century library!) and the one next door, which apparently is owned by the same person. The Mayfair had just opened 4 days prior to us coming and they were offering a promo. We went for it.
We were seated in these nice little leather seats and offered a cup of twinings! So high class!
A ton of color selections, I usually stick with OPI products but there was another one called "China" and a third brand of nail polish I just ignored. You choose the color based on the mildly creepy nail color palette and they get to work.
Let me tell you. In the States, you have to ask for and pay more for them to really exfoliate and remove all that dead calloused skin. My lovely pedicurist went to town on my feet and the black towel was covered in gross dead feet filings. SUPER!
There aren't any foot sinks, just basins lined in plastic bags which is fine by me. At least I know they are sanitary. As far as I can tell they don't sterilize their instruments if that's a minus for you, that's something to take into consideration.
My pedicure looks awesome and the service was great. Highly recommended!
