Was looking for someplace that had experience cutting non-Asian hair and this place was recommended by a friend that lives near by.
Overall satiaified with the haircut here. Got the basic "senior" level stylist which came out to about $40.
Despite the name of the place, it seemed like most people working here are Singaporean. Wanted to make sure I got someone I could communicate well enough with to explain what I wanted. While my stylist's English wasn't the _most_ understandable, we didn't really have too much difficultly communicating . Just a little bit of confusion caused by me asking for a #5 on the sides - they don't have anything longer than #3. This ended up fine though as he just used scissors for the whole thing instead. He wasn't super friendly but he also wasn't chatty - a big plus in my book.
Overall a good experience, would return.
I've cut my hair at Icon once and it was a pretty good experience. They often have some specials here so check it out before booking an appointment. The salon itself is very clean and bright and they have a nice view with widows overlooking the street.
I had a good shampoo, haircut and blow dry here. One of the things I don't like about certain salons is how they can take sometimes up to 90 minutes on a haircut, but they were done in about an hour here, but it did not feel rushed at all.
My only gripe would be the staff here that does not speak English well. It was a bit hard to communicate with almost all the staff. You would think in a place like Holland V, they would have staff that spoke English well.
