Do you know what Rooibos is?
I havent heard of it before I tried Spa Botanicas face and body treatment that uses this herb. Rooibos is also known as red bush or red tea, is a herb thats unique to South Africa. This herb is known for its potent anti-oxidant properties, and is said to help boost immunity and has anti-ageing properties.
Spa Botanica is one of my favourite spas in Singapore because its so reclusive and the therapists are really good at what they do.
I arrived in the afternoon and first went for a light lunch at The Garden, a restaurant thats attached to the spa.
Then, I was ushered to an indoor treatment room (the last time, I went to the outdoor pavilion) for my treatment.
The Rooibos Face & Body Anti-Aging Delight started off with a Rooibos Tea Foot Bath. I was served a cup of rooibos tea, while my therapist soaked my feet in a tub of rooibos tea. She dried my feet with light pressing movements, and then invited me to the massage bed.
A body scrub that consists of a blend of rooibos, pomegranatate and primrose oil was then applied all over my body. While I dont feel my body tightening like what the treatment promised, my skin feels well-exfoliated, thus it feels smooth and free from dead skin. Its rather indulgent because I mean how often do you scrub your entire body thoroughly. We usually just focus on caring for our face.
I rinsed off the scrub in the attached bathroom and emerged feeling quite refreshed.
A body massage is then administered, with botanical lotion applied generously all over the body. The massage is firm but very comfortable. My body initially creaked no thanks to long hours spent sitting before the computer but after a few minutes, the muscles loosened and I lulled into sleep.
Finally, an anti-ageing hydrating face mask was applied onto my face and my therapists massage the back of my neck and my shoulders.
See how my skin looks after the treatment
The 150-minute treatment ended and I was led to a pavilion where guests can help themselves to some tea and simply watch the day pass. I spent a few quiet moments there, resting my mind by not thinking about anything at all, before I went to the labyrinth for a stroll and meditation (and prayer).
Totally posed picture at tea pavilion
Its not called Botanica for just the treatments. Beautiful flowers can be seen everywhere.
Part of this treatments package is a two-course healthy lunch and a healthy juice (which I had for dinner). I like that the menu reminds guests that wellness has much to do with diet, and the meal indeed completes the session. I picked the pineapple and mint juice, which was one of the most refreshing drinks Ive ever had.
Another worthy mention is the dessert soya beancurd and berries which is love at first bite.
To me, the venue and ambience is just as important as the treatment. Spa Botanica is certainly one of the spas that I know of with the best facilities and ambience. This helps to set you in a relaxed mood immediately.
The Rooibos Face & Body Anti-Aging Delight costs $350 for one and $650 for two persons. Visit the Spa Botanicas website for more information.
As part of our stay, we got to enjoy the Spa Botanica. It was lovely set of pools with waterfalls to massage you and even a mud bath. It was very relaxing and peaceful. I might go back there for the day. It was just 40 sing for the entire day for people not staying at the resort. They give you a robe, flip flops, a locker, all the tea and water you can drink. You can get food and drinks at their restaurant. It was really quite lovely. Also, the resort has peacocks everywhere, so I took lots of pictures of those. They supposedly have monkeys too, but I didnt see any of those.
i recommend Spa Botanica. the outdoor pavillion for couple is nice and you can spend the whole day there using the facilities before/after that. quite ex though. but nice.
hope have a chance to go there some time.
Lovely J invited me to a girls spa retreat last weekend, at the Spa Botanica in Sentosa. Have always loved this place- gorgeous spa in lush gardens with facilities you can spend all day enjoying, including a mud pool, galaxy steam bath, pool with waterfall, pool without
Had the signature Herbal Indulgence Treatment, 2 glorious hours enjoying their detox foot soak, herbal compress, warm herbal oil and clay massage with wrap and tension balm on neck and shoulders. Bliss!
within Singapore I would strongly recommend Spa Botanica.
one good thing is they have lots of outdoorsy pavilions the ones in town are all indoors, in hotels etc.
They have couple packages for i think 3 or 4 hrs. use their services = you can bum at their pool and use their facilities whole day
you can oso tie it in with a 1-night stay at spa botanica
Got our keys, now off to the Spa!
Sam likes the Zen feel of the resort
They gave us a buggy ride to our destination!! The last time I sat on a buggy, it was at Hilton Grand Vacations Club in the US with my Dad so it brought back a lot of memories.
One of these was our room!
And we arrive at
Sam booked this one because it was rated #1 Spa in Singapore I could see why~
State of the art facilities and an excellent environment deems it worthy of the title
Bahahahahahaha I love how all three of the staff members at the counter are giving the WTF look in this picture!!!!!
I stopped taking photos inside the spa after this to avoid more WTF looks
We were given locker keys, and inside our own lockers we had bathrobes, towels, slippers etc
I got changed into their bathrobe and honestly it was a unique experience walking around completely naked except for a flimsy bathrobe and disposable undies they provided you with.
Their bathroom had a jacuzzi filled with flower petals in it, I so wanted to use it omg!!!! But obviously the male and female bathrooms were separated and I didnt wanna go alone.
In fact, even their SWIMMING POOLS have a men and women section Sucks balls!!!!!!
It was this nice too!!! But once again, didnt want to swim alone -_-
Dont they know that so many couples go for spa treatments together?!?
So we were led into some fancy room and began our spa treatment.
Youre supposed to lie face down on this bed so they have a hole for your head to fall into, like this:
The one @ Spa Botanica was obviously state of the art and a lot better la. But anyway I was pleased that it had a hole for my head but very soon I realized they did not have HOLES FOR MY BOOBS!!
And they HURT.
Like, am I the only girl whose boobs hurt when she lies face down??
I would imagine every girl would be in pain lor, unless you are AA cup la!! Your boobs get squashed so uncomfortably, how to relax?!?! Thats a problem I always encounter when I go for massages..
Thankfully my masseuse noticed my discomfort and offered me towels for support.
Note that when doing spa massages, you are required to be COMPLETELY NAKED except for wearing undies ehehehe!!!
And get this they totally massage your butt and boobs too!!! They will pull down your undies and just rub your butt in circular motions.
HAHAHAHAHAHA me and Sam were giggling like maddddd because we didnt expect them to touch our butts.
Call us childish, but it is EFFING FUNNY when a stranger rubs your ass so openly!!!
It was supposed to be relaxing but we were talking and laughing sooo much. Some parts were painful, some parts really ticklish..
Eventually I did fall asleep though, when it became too relaxing
I really really enjoyed myself and Id recommend you guys to check out Spa Botanica if you like to be pampered!
We did full body green tea exfoliating scrub + full body massage and other random stuff
Be prepared to pay a hefty price though, the spa treatment alone will cost you 600+ for 2 persons.
I love the smell of fresh flowers and pepper mint. And this is the exact smell Spa Botanica has. What can be better than having a half-days spa treatment at one of the most well-known spa resorts in Singapore?
My top priority for choosing a spa is the location. I love the nature and greens so the Spa Botanica was the perfect choice. Away from the city. Peaceful and quiet. Like most spas do, we had a welcome drink and filled up some personal particulars and choose our treatments.
We had a pampering 3 1/4 hr treatment which includes salt glow body scrub with vichy shower, moor body wrap, light healthy two-course meal, pebble foot bath, choice of swedish or east-west blend massage and a petal bath.
After our treatment, we went to the mud pool. Covered with mud from head to toe. Even our faces and nope, it didnt cause any breakouts. It was fun as my sister and I have never tried washing mud off our entire bodies. Dirt is very difficult to remove.
We love the environment, atmosphere, treatment, therapist, food and facilities but I must say, it is a little pricey.
Great for once-in-a-blue-moon treat. And for special occasions, you may want to consider booking an out-door suite remember to make your reservations early. I took a peep and it is amazing.
Last week, due to the generosity of my aunt (a.k.a shopping-partner and fellow-connoisseur-of-all-things beautiful), I became the recipient of a lush spa afternoon @ Spa Botanica, located on the little island of Sentosa.
The spa which has been voted by Conde Nast Traveller UK as THE WORLDS TOP 10 URBAN DAY SPA, Spa Botanica is a haven for luxury and elegance.
After a convenient shuttle of about 15-minutes from Paragon in the city, we arrived at a medium-sized old colonial bungalow estate which housed the spa. We proceeded to check-in at the reception where we were promptly served tea as we filled out our forms.
A few days ago, we were pouring through the spa menu wondering which treatment we were gonna go for. As with most spas, there were the a la carte selections of different types of facials, massage or beauty treatments or the many different packages. Inititally we thought of the rooibos face and body anti-ageing delight (which would have been apt since I was moving to South Africa!) but eventually settled on the tropical glow treatment instead.
We had arrived about an hour before the treatment so as to take advantage of the pool, mud baths and other facilities but alas, it was raining
So we made ourselves content in the jacuzzi instead
And got out before we became prunes and read magazines instead
Soon after, we were ushered for our magnificent 3-hour treatment There were indoor and outdoor treatment areas but because of the rain, I was deprived of my fresh air under a pavillion.
Any how after 3 hours of a scrub, mask, facial, Vichy shower and massage, I felt distinctly more relaxed. My only complain was that the papaya clay mask smelled funny and Id to shower 3x (after the scrub, after the mask and then there was the Vichy shower!)!!!
Both my aunt and I agreed that we felt like our skin was refreshed after all the pampering and we left feeling rather relaxed.
My verdict: 4 out of 5 stars! The location was great, the facilities were pretty good but could be better with more indoor activities (since rain deprived us of the use of facilities outside). The staff were attentive and lovely. Id recommend this place to all whod love a little getaway from the crazy busy life of Singapore!!!
I went to Spa Botanica recently for a hens party. One of the girls did not sign up for any treatments while the rest of us did massages/facials. I think they charge around $50 for the use of their facilites if you dont go there to do any treatment. This enables you to use the swimming pool, jacuzzi (located inside the shower room, not outdoors), floatation pool and the mud pool. If you sign up for treatment there, they let you use the facilities without extra charge. So if you go there for massage/facial, you should look to spend at least another 1-2hours there just to make use of their facilities to make it worth the money (as the treatments are fairly pricey compared to other spas, as I think they have already priced in the facilities usage). Overall, its a nice spa to spend an afternoon chilling out and unwinding at, especially with good company.
spa botanica is very good.. but very ex.. just had one 3 weeks ago
