Back then when I had seriously long hair and very little cash, I would sign-up for free haircuts at the Toni & Guy Academy. Then I got a job, I found a freelance hairstylist and for awhile I was happy with this arrangement.
Zovy was exactly what my hair needed. She was a friend of a friend and she came highly recommended. Since then I have been going to Zovy. What I love about her is that she knows how to deal with my hair, cow-licks and all. She understands that as my hair grows it becomes unruly and heavy. She's found a way to cut it so that it minimizes exactly those traits while retaining its character,
I'm not high-maintenance in the hair department. Which means I go for a haircut every quarter, no treatments, not even a dye job (until recently--that's for another story and another review).
If there's anyone who handles or more like, can handle my hair, it's Zovy.
So ask for her next time you're here. It's the only reason I'm a fan of this place.
Haircuts have always been uncomfortable for me--first having concerned relatives poke and prod, asking for my hair to be cut ever shorter, then by hairdresses flummoxed by my coarse hair. That was until a friend recommended her favorite hairdresser. Call to make an appointment and ask for Dior. He will ask you what you want, and he will explain if it is possible, and then he will give it to you, no more and no less. Wash and go? You've got it, no upselling of rebonding or hair treatments. He will suggest a colour or gloss, but no hardselling if you say no--he understands your hair, and he just wants to make you look good in a way that suits your lifestyle.
