i tried trimming my hair there when the salon just opened. probably 2011 jan/feb?
had the male stylist (the one with red hair n funky hairstyle). the trim turned out fine.
my impression of the service there is that the hairdressers all wanna chop-chop-cut-and-go. fast, but definitely not rude at all. anyway it was a just $4.80 trim, so i didnt expect to receive princess treatments laugh.gif
one thing is, for other chemical treatments (colouring, rebonding, perm), they would always encourage you to use better products (+$50), add a treatment (+$30) and as usual, long hair need to top-up (+$30-50). so if i do rebonding there, i would end up spending $60 + 50 + $30 + $50 = $180. then i would rather pay abit more to do it at a proper salon.
i went once before the hair trim, wanting to rebond my hair. while having the hair wash, the same male stylist started telling me about the additional charges and so i told him i need to think again. i was expecting him to hardsell, but instead, he gave me a seat at a corner of the salon with a towel for me to sit down and think. hahaha. in the end, i told him i decided not to rebond already and said some polite words (like, the price abit out of my budget, thank you for letting me know, heres the towel, bye-byee) and tried to squeeze my way from one corner to the other corner where the door is. super paiseh! cos my hair was still wet! but he was polite and with slight smile still when he said its okay. probably he also understands that customers usually dont expect to pay so much for a budget salon! i wonder if i didnt rush out of the salon like this, would he have even offer me the hair-dryer to blow dry my hair first laugh.gif
looks like im the only one who didnt have bad experiences with H I Salon.. .
