Impromptu hair cut trip without any appointments. They were quite busy for the evening but they still entertained and served me. Friendly and great service, they even introduced hair styles and colours that suit me. Provided me with advices on colour blocking, hair dyes and bleaching and some knowledge that most of us do not know. Thumbs up!
Chapter 2 is located on the lower floor of the Plaza Singapura
I had an awesome experience at Chapter 2 - my hairstylist was very nice and did a great job accommodating us - we were very late to our appointment, and when we arrived were pretty constrained for time.
They have a good mix of male and female stylists, and the clientele didn't seem skewed towards any kind of gender. The ambiance is pretty trendy, and they have a really good stock of magazines and free wifi.
My stylist was really nice, and was really great at giving advice about what would look good with my face shape - I liked that she was pretty blunt, and wasn't afraid to tell me what wouldn't look good either.
Overall, very happy with my experience.
Cutting my hair, or taming the savage beast, is something that occurs once a month. I get a buzzcut: number three on top and number two on the sides, every single time. I've had this same haircut for 15 years and I do rather like it.
It may sound easy enough - indeed some friends have even suggested I do it myself - but it is deceptively complex to perfect. Where is the perfect balance to taper off the longer part? How should one make sure it's even despite the unwieldy contours of my skull and unruly hair that needs to be tamed (much like pruning a hedge)?
This is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive salon in Singapore. And they don't give me the best haircut I've ever had, but neither do they give the worst. They haven't as yet messed my hair up, which is more than I can say for several other salons I've tried both within Singapore and outside it.
Three stars, well-deserved. Keep up the good job, Chapter 2.
I've had my good and bad experiences with different stylists in Chapter 2.
One went ahead and gave me mee sua straight hair when I didn't ask for it, totally fried my hair; which I then had to cut short.
One kept trying to fix my hair and kept charging me even though it just went from bad to worse.
But my favourite stylist is in Chapter 2- Plaza Singapura, Nick Chong.
He is a good stylist and I've stuck with him since 2007.
We started our long hair-affair when on a whim, I went to him to fix a bad colour job. He made me gorgeous on that day. And I've gone back to him ever since. Every time, I try to deviate and go to someone else, I always end up going to him to fix a disaster.
He is so good. Just so blardy expensive sometimes.
I am beautiful because of him. Nuff said.
