WARNING: A DOWNRIGHT HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
The service of Beaute de Paradise (BDP) is utterly horrid. I bought a Groupon for 3 sessions of brazillian waxing and aftercare mask, with a validity of 3 months. I went for my first appointment in January, and made a second appointment for February. Before my Feb appointment, Karol messaged me on 23 Feb claiming that her therapist had met with “some medical condition” and needed to be hospitalised. She told me that she would "keep me posted". I didn't hear from them until mid-March. I went for my second appointment in March and scheduled my next appointment for 11 April. On the morning of 11 April, Karol messaged me saying that her colleague was “on urgent leave today” and asked if the appointment could be changed to Thursday or Friday. Needless to say, I was terribly exasperated as I had taken half day leave for the appointment.The appointment was rescheduled once again to 14 April at 1pm. On 13 April, Karol messaged me AGAIN to say that her therapist “had a family member who just past away this morning” and asked to reschedule the appointment.
When I turned up for my third appointment on 20 April, Karol informed me that because my package expired, I was no longer entitled to the aftercare mask. She demanded that I top up $5 for it, failing which I would not get it. I told her that the reason why my package had expired was because she had repeatedly postponed my appointments, a grand total of 4 times. If my appointments were kept, I would have completed my package in time. I showed her the entire list of messages sent by her, repeatedly postponing my appointments, through no fault of mine. She replied that Beaute de Paradise had already “given me grace” by allowing my second appointment to fall outside the validity period. When I pointed out that it was because they rescheduled my 31 January appointment, she simply flatly replied “This are my boss’s instructions”. When I asked to speak to her boss, she gave a convenient excuse “He’s out of town”. When I called Groupon's hotline, Karol had the cheek to tell the staff that she had "no records" of the postponements despite the SMSes that I just showed her.
1. To the staff's credit (a nice Indian lady), she did a decent job. But this was ruined by Karol.
2. This blatant lying is completely unacceptable. Karol's "Customer service" is so bad that it's worse than non-existent customer service.
3. Why is it that other outlets with smaller staff strength do not face such last-minute manpower constraints? Even if her excuses are true, shouldn't more be done to get a replacement therapist?
4. The audacity of BDP to demand an additional $5 for what I have already paid for, even though Karol is fully aware (having sent the SMSes to me herself) that the repeated adjournments are due to BDP's adjournments.
5. To all out there, I end with this: BEWARE OF THIS ROGUE MERCHANT. The money you save from getting a Groupon is not worth the time and agony.
