I love this place! Why? It's right across from my place! Hahhaha! So at 6:30 AM you'll see me at this gym. Okay, fine, 7:00-7:15 AM. I ATTEMPT to get up at 6:30 AM. The gym opens at 6:30 on the weekdays and 8:00 on the weekends.
This gym has the basic facilities, ie treadmills, free weights, etc. Even, a yoga studio, group studio and even a cycling "studio." The latter is more like a fenced area for class, but I wish they built some walls and are able to blast the music and have crazy disco lights. That's how I spin, yo. Classes are offered in the morning, afternoon, and evening, though no morning classes for Tuesday and Thursday for some odd reason. I definitely recommend the Body Pump class on Wednesday morning. You WILL be sore! I also love how they have a lot of classes offered on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. No evening classes on the weekends though. They also have a small session in the corner (?) for self-TRX or conditioning. I just do lunges or jump around the sketched ladder on the floor. Occasionally I will do some planks and stretches.
One thing I despise about this place are the mats. Granted, I am a pretentious, organic loving yogi from San Francisco but FF really needs to invest in quality mats! I refuse to attend some of the yoga classes bc their mats suck that badly. They're good for laying on top of the step when I am in my Body Pump classes bc they're so flimsy and plasticy, but really poor for yoga or an overall exercise mat. I could bring my own mat, I suppose.
The pool can be a bit tricky since FF is sharing it with Amara Hotel. You'll need to pass your ID card to the receptionist and then she can pass you the card to the pool located on the 6th floor. My biggest pet peeve is that they do not have showers by the pool and sometimes there are no towels! Then you'll have to track upstairs again to grab a towel. I usually forget the rinse and jump in anyway because I don't want to walk around like in a dripping hot (cold?) mess. Do NOT visit the pool in the afternoon bc it directly faces the sun. Skin cancer is not worth that swim noon/afternoon swim. FF does not have a swimsuit spinner like Pure, which is a bummer. They do have a hot sauna, but no steam sauna.
Compared to Pure Fitness this place is alright. Being a newer gym, I actually expected it to be a bit better than Pure. Nonetheless, it's still a good gym since it's close to my home and work.
Workout clothes are provided so bring your shoes!
No morning classes on Tuesday and Thursday.
No evening classes on the weekends.
Opening hours are 6:30 AM - 10:00 PM on weekdays and 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM on weekends.
