I had blogged about buying my very first Groupon beauty treatment on September 15. Well, I went for my first lazer treatment today. This beauty clinic is at The Aldephi, within walking distance from the City Hall MRT station. They've been established in 1991, which is a bit assuring for me.
As usual, I walked the entire third floor before locating it. The building has quite a lot of aesthetics clinics btw. My appointment was at 3pm and when I entered, a beauty therapist was wolving down a bowl of noodles and her big bulging eyes followed me around. I was given a form to fill up my particulars and another staff who looked a bit garang asked me if this was my maiden session with lazer. She was a bit taken aback when I told her it's probably my 30th time. Yes sister, don't play play. She introduced me to my therapist Eunice, a pretty and very sweet girl from Malaysia. Eunice is 25, has a boyfriend who's 28 and he's also from Malaysia and working in Singapore, and she wants to holiday in Taiwan.
So yup, as expected, Eunice is not a Doctor but I think the lazer procedure is easy to pick up so I was not overly concerned. Eunice cleansed my face thoroughly, spread a layer of carbon over my face and left me in the dark for 15 minutes. Then she came back and started the lazering. I asked her for the type of lazer used. It is "soft" lazer and I can't argue with that because I didn't feel any pain at all. I only hope the gentleness of it doesn't affect the maximum result I came for. I asked "which country is the lazer machine from" but Eunice doesn't know. After the lazer, she put a vitamin C mask on my face and left me alone to marinate in it for about 20 minutes. Then she sat me up, gave my back a few hearty thumps, ushered me out of the treatment room and offered me a generous pot of red date tea.
I didn't have to wait at any time and there was no hard sell of products and services so I didn't have to say I'm dead broke and going to Bangkok to pop ping pongs out of my body part so I can put food on the table for my 3 adopted children.
This easy session has given me more confidence to scour Groupon for other super cheap beauty deals. I need IPL for armpit and lower leg hair removal before I turn into a gorilla, mist or no mist!
